What should you bring?
- Lunch, snack, and beverages – a small cooler is fine if you want to keep things cool.
- Water – reusable water bottles can be filled onboard.
- Warm boat clothing – street clothes are fine, dress in layers. Long pants are recommended. Jackets and blankets may also make you more comfortable.
- Motion sickness medicine and personal medications.
- Gratuity for crew.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are whales really guaranteed?
All of March each year we guarantee you will see gray whales or another type of large whale species. We almost always see dolphins, which are toothed whales :), but these are not included in our promise to you.
If we don’t see whales, you can return on any whale watching trip we operate during the same season. An email will be send post trip with a code to rebook for free!
What is the Trip Minimum for Whale Watching?
Our trip minimum is based on a number of adults. If you book a trip that has that trip minimum met, you will receive a “CONFIRMED” email and your credit card will be charged. If you book on a date that has not yet met that minimum you will receive a “PENDING” email. “PENDING” reservations are canceled 24 hours prior if we have not met our minimum. You may cancel at “PENDING” order at any time.
Do we land on an island during the trip?
No, we do not land at Anacapa but if we have time, we will cruise along Anacapa island on the SUNFISH.
Can I bring food and snacks?
Bring your own snacks and beverages along. We do not have a galley onboard.
What is your cancellation policy?
A credit card will be required but not charged until your trip is confirmed.
Payment in full is required to reserve your whale watching tickets. You can reschedule or cancel up until 7 days prior to your departure. Cancellations requiring a refund will be charged a 15% processing fee. There is no fee to reschedule. We reserve the right to cancel within 12 hours of departure due to weather or trip minimums. Full refunds will be processed for cancellations made by us.
